Location
Croatia (officially the Republic of Croatia) is a European country. It is geographically located in the southern part of Central Europe and in the northern part of the Mediterranean.
Croatia shares borders with Slovenia and Hungary to the north, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the east, Montenegro to the south, and it also shares a sea border with Italy on the west and south.
Cities
The capital city is Zagreb. Other major cities are Split, Rijeka, Zadar, Dubrovnik, and Osijek.
Currency
The official currency of the Republic of Croatia is the euro.
The Schengen Area
On 1 January 2023 Croatia joined the Schengen Area. Its neighbouring countries, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, and Italy are also members of the Schengen Area.
