General information about Croatia<\/strong><\/p>

Location<\/strong><\/p>

Croatia (officially the Republic of Croatia) is a European country. It is geographically located in the southern part of Central Europe and in the northern part of the Mediterranean.<\/p>

Croatia shares borders with Slovenia and Hungary to the north, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the east, Montenegro to the south, and it also shares a sea border with Italy on the west and south.<\/p>

Cities<\/strong><\/p>

The capital city is Zagreb. Other major cities are Split, Rijeka, Zadar, Dubrovnik, and Osijek.<\/p>

Currency<\/strong><\/p>

The official currency of the Republic of Croatia is the euro.<\/p>

The Schengen Area<\/strong><\/p>

On 1 January 2023 Croatia joined the Schengen Area. Its neighbouring countries, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, and Italy are also members of the Schengen Area.<\/p>

The calling code for Croatia is +385, and the time zone is UTC+1.<\/p>

Power sockets<\/strong><\/p>

For Croatia there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Croatia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.<\/p>
